Sponsorship Programme

If after reading this page you feel you would like to make a donation, please use the 'Donate Now' button or contact Hanna. Every penny we receive, we are eternally grateful for.

We will never give up on a dog without trying our very best and giving it every opportunity we have at our disposal. Please, please help in any way you can.

Some of the dogs that come in to our care become long-term fosters and cannot be re-homed because of age or health problems. Below you can see just some of the dogs we have on 'permanent foster' and need to raise money for to cover vet fees, food costs, rehabilitation etc.

Would you be prepared to sponsor a dog for as little as £1.00 per week? This is a valuable way in which those who are not able to keep a dog of their own provide support and care for a POODLE IN NEED.

Sometimes, dogs we take need extensive veterinary care and medication to ensure they have the best life possible. However, we would never prolong their life should it be known they were suffering.

Any sponsorship or fundraising (see our Fundraising & Shop pages) you feel you could provide would be very much appreciated. This could be a 'one-off' donation or a regular payment either monthly or annually. If you do wish to make a donation, please go to our DONATE  NOW  page.

OVERVIEW OF DOGS ON PERMAMENT FOSTER

All of these dogs require funding for veterinary treatment, food and care. Any sponsorship/donations would be greatfully appreciated.

This little 9 year old girl came to us in January 2010 with an appaling skin and ear condition which she is still being treated for. Shortly after arriving with us she had a fit but we are unsure if this will be an ongoing issue or was due to her poor condition and anxiety. She is being closely monitored.

She also requires attention to her teeth and several will need to be removed. For her overall wellbeing, she will also need to be spayed.

6/12/10: The skin condition is coming on a treat and is considerably better. Ears problems are still being monitored but an improvement can be seen. She has not had any more fits and has a dental and had three teeth removed. Even through all of this, she has proved to be nothing but an absolute darling.

This lad came to us when he was 5 and has been with us for 3 years now. There is nothing medically wrong with him but after 18 months of advertising, no home could be found. It seems that so few people are prepared to offer a 'dog' a home yet they have so much love to give.

6/12/10: This lad continues to be a true sweetheart.

This lovely girl is about 4 years old now and it has taken us 2 years to get her basically socialised. She was (and still is at times) very timid, sensitive and stressed easily. Initially we did have several interested parties but sadly they decided they did not want to home a dog stressed so easily.

6/12/10: This lovely little girl is still 'Dizzy Tizzy' and gets stressed at the slightest incident...having said that, she is gradually progressing

These two litter sisters came to Poodles In Need some four years ago now because the previous owner wanted to spend more time with the grandchildren!!

The lady with the pink collar is 14 1/2 years old and arthritic and sadly, the little lady with the red collar died very recently. They remain with PIN as a home could not be found where they could go together.

November 2010: Sad to say that the litter sister has now died. We done everything possible to make they final days as

comfortable and happpy as possible.

Thank-you to all of you of made donations towards these lovely girls.

These two little girls have now left us... RIP my darlings

This 13 year old bitch came to us due to the death of her owner, this lovely girl was looking for a new home as she is good with cats and other dogs. However, as no one was willing to offer her a loving home because of her age, she is now on permanent foster.

6/12/10: After arriving at the foster home and being vet checked she was drinking excessively so blood tests were performed and she was diagnosed as having 'Cushings Disease'. It has taken roughly 6 months to get the medication levels right and she is now much fitter, although the disease is permanent and ongoing. She is loved and adored at the foster home and will live the rest of her life with people who love her dearly.

This little 9 year old toy lad has been with us for a year or so. He is deformed and  thus has mobility issues.  Having been vet checked by an orthopaedic specialist, there is little other than amputation that could be done for him. However, as he is not showing any signs of pain, the decision was to allow him to continue as is. He also suffers from slipping patellas but again the vet feels this need not be operated on yet. He cannot be walked further than say 100 yards but he potters about and enjoys the odd game with his cuddly toy.

6/12/10: He is just loved to bits at his foster home. He has settled in with his pack and has no fear in the world.

Aug 2011 :  RIP my dear one

TOY POODLE - Black

This black neutered male, will be 13 years 'young' in the New Year. He is now in his foster home and is proving to be an absolute sweetheart. He is good with other Poodles and cats and good at being groomed. Vet check this week (6/12/10).

The vet check showed he has a heart murmor and will need medication for the rest of his life

As we did not have any interested in this chap, we have found a permanent, long-term foster home for him where he can live out his days in a loving and caring home. We will of course ensure he recieves all the medical attention he needs.

This 12 year old little lady was an ex-breeding bitch and has been with us for a few years now. Sadly because of her past and the fact she has a heart murmur and requires daily medication, a permanent home could not be found and she is in a loving permanent foster home.

6/12/10: This lass just settles in and makes not complaints about having to take her medication. She will hopefully continue to remain stable and a content lady.

This absolutely adborable 14 yr old we couldn't find a home for because of his age is being looked after by a loyal fosterer of ours.  He isn't on any medication but we have to fund his upkeep.
